Got some shots with the D7100 this weekend.

My wife snapped this shot (cropped to panorama)...



and I caught his moment of glee when Bitterroot Spike found a big one cruising in at dusk...

both shots are with the 18-140 VR, which is a pretty incredible lens, considering it is a consumer superzoom.  Sharpness is really remarkable for a lens of this type, and the build quality is quite a step up from the 18-105 VR.  The Achilles heel is linear distortion, which is pretty noticeable in some shots, but of course is easily correctable in post.  In fact, all I have to do is check the box for lens correction in LR.

It is so good at 140, I am really starting to lean towards the 300mm f4 over the 70-200 f4, as I already have the 70-140 range covered.
