I have a Vortex HS 2.5-10x44 to mount on my M77 .270. I bought a set of Millett high mounts. After mounting them to the gun the ring screws on top were so tight I stripped one of them out even after heating it. I emailed Millett no problem they sent me a replacement set. That set has a defect on the bottom of the rear mount and it won't sit flush on the gun! DONE with Millett looking for recommendations for a set of high 30mm mounts. Thanks

Yeah, Millet's aren't highly favored on this, or many other forums. Sorry for your problems.
What's wrong with the proprietary Ruger rings?

If at first you don't secede...try..try again.

I would get the Ruger or Leupold rings. I have some Warne's that have worked good also. I still like the original concept and both the Leos and Rugers are it.
