Yeah, I've got a buddy who keeps trying to get me to go over there hunting (I'm in the east)... guess I'll try to check it out sometime.

With high end scopes, the difference between different brands is mostly personal preference and some minor specifications.

Swaro, Leica and Zeiss will all fit the bill.

I am sorta partial to Leica since they agree with my eyes the best, but I will be the first one to admit that I would be equally well served by similarly configured scope for all of these.

I would probably be looking at one of these:

Illuminated Swaro is close to a grand more and for low light use a nicely executed reticle illumination is pretty helpful, though not always necessary.

I'd personally check out the R1 and R2 line of scopes from Meopta.  As good optically as anything on the planet.  Their illuminated dot reticles are super good.

I really like the IOR. I have a 3.5-188X50 on my 308. I've had it for 3-4 years with no issues. I also have a IOR 12-52X56  Terminator on my 6.5 CM. That scope is amazing. Is there a better reticle than the MP-8?

IOR Valdada. A  Romanian scope company. They make top tier tactical scopes. They make hunting scopes as well. They have a 2.5-10X42 with a ranging reticle that is really good. The reticle is very simular to the MSR reticle (Multi Purpose Sniper Reticle).
