Rimfire scopes are parallax adjusted for a closer distance than scopes intended for centerfires because of the closer range shooting you typically do with a rimfire vs a centerfire. Rimfire scopes are usually parallax corrected at 50 yds/meters whereas CF scopes are usually adjusted to be parallax-free at 100 yds/meters. You can of course use a "CF" scope on a RF, but perfectly centered eye alignment behind the scope becomes more critical at short range, to avoid POA-POI errors. You can also just use a scope that features a parallax adjustment (either side focus knob, A/O adjustment, or ocular parallax adj), provided it has close parallax correction at or below 50 yds.

But none of the above is really a concern unless your scope is, like, above 6X .....

At 6X and below, parallax is not much of an issue unless you are shooting in the Olympics and want to put all your shots into..... the same hole!

I have a recommendation for your rifle.  I recently purchased a

Simmons 4x32 .22 Mag rifle scope for my Ruger 10-22, and I like the

compact size and the nice view it offers, with nice eye relief, and a great sight picture.

I just found this one selling on the Sample list, for $26.95.

This is a great place to start.
