The last 48 hours in Texas, most of the news has regarded our weather patterns.
For any of you who have been in North Texas for any brief period of time knows that it can change at any given moment. Late Sunday night, I noticed the sky transitioning color and the winds began to pick up. Out west of where I live just south of Abilene a cell was developing, then generating strong straight line winds of up 60 MPH. As it closed in on DFW I really began to pay close attention to the radar. At first that squall line was just a straight line, however as you can see from the radar, just north of me, the storm produced a echo MCV (mesoscale convective vortex) hooking back around, with high potential of generating tornadic activity. Luckily it didn't in my area, however this storm generated eight other tornados prior to encountering South DFW. Here's a picture of some of the hail that this storm generated. Note - not my picture. Someone else shared this with WFAA Channel 8
Here's some of the pictures I took. |

We flew through DFW Sunday about mid day. The 737-700 was bouncing around like a E ticket ride at Disneyland. The fingernail marks in my arm from the misses will heal. 😂 Momma doesn't like flying!

Thanks Deck.
Yeah, that one was very cool, you could see in the clouds were there was a channel separating them. Very cool.

If I'd have had my camera Sunday night, I would have parked up at the top of the hill on 5th street west of fort worth, with a clear view of the skyline. The rain stayed south of us until most of the lightning had passed, and the power never went off. I could've gotten some amazing pictures of lighting in and around downtown Fort Worth. Maybe I can do it next week when we're supposed to get some more rain.

Those are always cool to capture. Especially when the sky scapers are in the shot. Makes for a very cool photo.

I'm going to show these to the wife. But I'm also going to be wearing body armor when I do it. I don't think she's going to trust me when I tell her "it's fine baby, it's just a little rough air anymore! 😅

I would tell her through the window of a Mercedes-Benz. Perhaps it may be safer than a flak-Jacket.

There is a reason I love the woman so much, I'd be in more trouble giving her a SL 550 AMG then telling her we flew though a thunderhead. LOL! I'm frugal, but the Royal gorge was created when the wife dropped a quarter down a gopher hole!

I've been to the Royal Gorge. |

Life's concerns should be about the 120lb pack your trying to get to the top of the mountain, and not the rock in your boot.
