All assistance will be appreciated by this newbie.
I am looking for a IV generation (filmless) night vision scope capable of being mounted on my M-4, helmet, and being hand held, etc. My first choice would be a Litton product. I realize that since they have been taken-over by Northrop Grumman their small production has diminished even further. I would be willing to wait in order to get one of Litton's scopes if necessary. My second choice would be from ITT. I understand that ITT produces a fine product, but not quite up to the standards of Litton. Whether this is a matter of quality of the lens or the scopes ability to stand up to the rigors of field use I do not know. Thank you for taking the time to "enlighten" me. PeregrineAloft |

Aren't there any military folks available that may have had some experience with both Litton and ITT night vision equipment, case in point the PVS-14? Gen 4.

I would probably have to say only two items would fill the requirements listed, the pvs-14 , and the insight technology mini monocular. Either unit would be capable of mounting to the m-4, head or helmet mount, or even handheld. The insight mini-monocular in my opinion would be the better package deal as it comes with everything to achieve your requirement out of the box, the pvs-14 would need to have a weapon mount purchased separately. As far as the tube requirement gen IV filmless, we have ITT in very limited quantities, with military getting 1st dibs. Litton takes a little longer due to military demand and could be 30-120 days out.
Insight technology mini monocular $3,999.95
PVS-14 $3,999.95
