Hello,

I'm new to the forum and I've done some searching here and on the net for information about rings and bases for a Sako Model 85 Grey Wolf in .270 Winchester. I've been looking at the Sako Optilocks and the Burris Signature Zee rings. Anyone have any luck with these? Would you recommend one over the other? If so, could you help me figure out which ones I would need for my rifle specifically? I have a Sako 85 Finnlight in .22-250 Remington with a Leupold 4.5-14x40mm scope utilizing Leupold ringmounts. I am not a huge fan of the Leupold mounts and am looking for something different for this rifle setup. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I would get talley 2 piece bases with talley rings.

Me too. In fact, I did...multiple times. Never been disappointed with the Talleys. Do a search and you should find plenty of discussion about the various Sako ring options in the archives.

Another vote for the Talley's.

I had Talley's on a Sako M75. Worked well. Much better than the over priced crap Opti Locs. The Leupold ring/mounts I had on that rifle worked pretty well, but less so than the Talley's.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I've looked into the Talley's as well. Does anyone know what model of rings and mounts from Talley work best with my rifle? I'm planning on buying a Leupold 3.5-10x40mm scope. I can't find a chart or anything on the Talley website that would tell me which rings/mounts to go with. Thanks again for the help.

I'd give Talley call Monday and talk to them. I've called and talked to them on several occasions and they can help you get the RIGHT set up, Friend.
