And coincidentally, those are the exact 3 Conquest scopes I own. I agree totally, those 3 were/are very good.

I have had a few Conquests over the years and mostly liked them. When they first camee out, they were the best bang/buck option; as they became successful, the price started going up with no commensurate increase in quality or features.

I think all my conquests are now owned by others, none left. I did look at the HD5 variants but, in that price range, figured there are better options.

The plastic turrets, though I never broke one, always gave me some concern.

I haven't looked at the Terra stuff.

I wouldn't be surprised to find out that the Conquests were assembled by Meopta at their USA Long Island, NY facility. I always heard rumors that the Conquests were assembled " on the island " but could never find a Zeiss owned facility out there. Matters not really as the Conquest, for all intended purposes, was a Meopta product.

I believe if we had all the inside info, we'd probably be surprised by how many other optics out there are either entirely built by Meopta or have significant Meopta OEM participation in some way. Meopta is a giant in the industry, but has been one of the best kept secrets in optics in the US market until very recently.

Wouldn't shock me to find out those new scopes from Leica were assembled at the Meopta facility. They are advertised as assembled here. Leica USA is about 10-15 mins from my house and I've been there and they aren't assembled at that location. Leica isn't going to trust their reputation to just anyone.
