While I have been hunting quail and pheasant for years I have just recently gotten into big game. I will soon own a Rem. 700 in a 30-06 caliber and am looking for a scope in the range of U.S $150-250. Since my shooting ability with a rifle is not stellar I am looking only for one that can reach 250 yds. (that's probably a stretch) I am told that a non- variable 4x leupold would be my best bet. Any suggestions or advice is greatly appreciated. Thank you Rookie |

the 3-9x40 burris FF2 with the ballistic plex is right in the middle of your amount, and comes with a free spotter all for 197.95.

A fixed power with lots of eye relief is perfect for getting started. Very user friendly. You don't want to get discouraged by using something too complicated for your first big game rifle. Practice practice practice.

Welcome rookie, I have to strongly agree with the redneckbmxr on the Burris FF 3-9 over a fixed power. Once you start building confidence with your 700, always my first choice in rifles, you will have a rig that is ready to take on any big game hunting situation your likely to encounter in North America. The fact that you get a free spotter tossed in only make the deal more irresistible. Lastly, like Chris said, practice, practice, practice........ Good luck.
