Why did Zeiss quit making the 2.5-10 x 42 victory diavari? Does anybody ever see one for sale?

Most likely because it didn't sell well enough. Short of the company going out of business or creating a "new and improved" version of something, that's almost always the reason anything gets discontinued.

The average buyer of alpha class European scopes seems to prefer 50mm and larger objective size on anything topping out at 10X or more, to take maximum advantage of light transmission.

I've looked for the Diavari 2.5-10X42 several times in the past, but I haven't been successful in finding one for sale.

I know where several of the Victory 2.5-10x42 scopes are, and none are for sale.

Must have been a pretty good scope if nobody wants to sell one! Evidently Zeiss must have not felt the same way or they wouldn't have been discontinued!

Brand change, but the Swaro 1.7-10x42 would fit that niche nicely.  If you are in the market for a new scope.

Meopta also has a 1.7-10x.

Leica has a very nice ERi 2.5-10X42 also.
