Dang Ed, I should have shown it to you yesterday while you were here, but the phones were going crazy.

I got to see the Old Redfield green Vietnam scope!  And I saw all the taxidermy upstairs!

I had the Nickel Tour ( for two hours! )    Laugh

Chris showed me all the rifles in his office.... I was tripping over antlers and empty cartridge cases.

Looking at this stuff starts long term memory.

Note the adjustment graduations are 5 to a numbered interval instead of the common 4 or 8 used for ~ .25 - 1/4 moa and ~ .125 - 1/8 moa. This required the front and back mounts to be spaced a certain distance to get 1/5 inch per click @ 100, 1 inch @ 500 and 2 inches at 1000. I remember this being sort of natural and running 5 clicks per interval, like 5 to 10, and coming up with 5 inches at 500 and 10 inches at 1000 seemed logical.

Shortening the mount spacing would make the click values larger but @ 1/4 per click * 5 clicks would produce 5/4 or 1.25 @ 100, 6.25 @ 500, and 12.5 @ 1000.

I rather go like from 0 to 5 (the numbers on the drum), 1/5 clicks or 5 for 1 inch @ 100 rather than 5 1/4 inch clicks for 1.25 (a fractional value) inches at 100.

The further apart the mounts are the greater amount of stability. Possibly this is why 1/5 inch or .20 inch values or 5 clicks per numbered interval were put into these scopes.

The 03 looks like it has a spacing just under 10 inches.

The sweet young thing is a nice change from numbers and stuff.

I'll note, that I wasn't being a tease. That scope is for sale from SWFA.  We plan to put it on eBay and auction it off. You guys got to see it, before it hits the auction block.

not inexpensive but way more practical. I guess you could just stack lens shades on most any scope to make it look long.
