I'm putting together a winchester model70 in 338 magnum. it has weaver bases on it now, but i like the looks of the talley lightweights. will they hold up from the recoil of a 338? or is there a better option that is a one piece ring and base setup? thanks, Don

They should be ok. I have them on a 7lb 300wsm and a 45-70. Both have pretty stout recoil and they have held up great. You could always go with the steel talleys too

I used their scope mounts on my Weatherby Mark V in 340 Wby. My stock broke before I had any issues with their scope mounts.

Hahaha...that's an endorsement, Sir! I have never, ever seen a situation where any one has reported issues with TLW's failing, even on light weight, big bore rigs. Man, I just love them Talley's. All that, for $40...done. I don't know if I'll ever go back to Picatinny rails. |

Thanks for the replies. I think I'm going to go with these and see how I like them. I may switch my Marlin Guide gun 45/70 to these also.
