I want to mount a scope on my mod 68. I don't want to drill & tap it. I plan on removing the rear sight, and fitting a bolt in the dove tail. Then bolting the mount down, glue/epoxy the mount. The mount will be forward of the bolt/chamber. I want to know what mount will fit the curve of the receiver. Any help?

I don't know....it looks like you'll be gluing the mount to the barrel.  You'll have to experiment.

Best thing to do, is forget mounting a scope and ruining the rifle, and buy something like a Savage that will readily take a scope.
Life's concerns should be about the 120lb pack your trying to get to the top of the mountain, and not the rock in your boot.

I concur. This is a Winchester. It will have a collectable value if it stays in the original configuration. A savage will likely be a much better shooter. A scope will improve the savage rather than destroy its value. No way other than drilling and taping would a mount be secure enough that it would be stable or strong enough to make a scope accurate on the Winchester.

Need to follow the rules. Just hard to determine which set of rules to follow
Now the rules have changed again.

I have a model 41 Remington that shoots great with irons and mounting a scope is the same issue as yours. I would shoot it as is and look for another scope friendly gun.
