You would probably like central Texas  - Austin, New Braunflels, Kerville, etc.

No, my wife is from out in the desert down there. But I've never been in (the desert) . Can't comprehend a desire to be in such heat and around so many people. But then , I'm a bush Alaskan so. That fire is getting pretty big.
I also can't imagine that much fire danger with that many crazy people around. It's a wonder they don't burn everything up.
You are being watched.

Just got back from my family's Griswold-style vacation.

We ended up having a little run-in with the Cliff Creek Fire in Wyoming the day it blew up, and ended up rerouted 3 hours.

Ilya; if ya like that kind of heat, ya oughta move to Nevada. . Still as hot as hell. But you can pack and shoot to your hearts content. Guns a blazin non stop.
Bitterroot; that's a good pic. The fire I was on last year , blew up like that . The IC pulled all the iron back to the LV . We sat there and got painted red by the retardant bombers . Overspray. The smoke was up above 20,000 ' altitude. Fire jumped a 5blade wide line I had been building for 2 days

CTF,

I fought fire with the USFS '98-'02.

Big fire years in there (2000-01 especially).  Got to see some wild fire behavior.  Not much you can do with 200+ foot flame lengths like in the above pic.  Just got to get out of the way.

Yup. I don't mind cutting bla k edge with the D5H . Even with a little candling. But when things get worse , I'm either on my way into solid black or to a wide open lz

I spend a fair amount of time in Nevada and in the summer it is a fair bit hotter than here.  Still, I do not like the heat very much, but I do not mind it either.

Ultimately, I will end up moving wherever I can find a job.  Climate only comes into play if I have multiple options.
