Well, right off the bat, BDC didn't come out until the seventies. They did have a ranging feature on some scopes in 1968, but bullet drop compensation started around 1975.

Ed will always have good information on a topic like this... Ed has dated more scopes than just about anybody... he's dated lots of oddities...

It comes from hangin' over the gun counter whenever the stagecoach brought in some new packages from the East....

When you are dead, you don't know you are dead.It is difficult only for others.
It is the same when you are stupid. |

Thank you all! I didn't know when bdc came about but didn't think it was in the 70s. As for dating I was thinking there may have been some type of numerical ordering to the model #. Also if on the left side below top adjuster it says Banner by Bushnell is that 60s / 70s. Thanks again Tim |

I don't know. The Banner line started in 1961 as a less expensive line of scopes. They all said Banner on them...over the years they probably changed the labels a little. I don't know when they said 'Banner by Bushnell'.... anyway, it's old for a scope...
I have a neat old Weaver Challenger scope from like 1970. It's a nice little scope ( 2X-7X) but it has a lot of glare. It doesn't matter where you are, there's glare on both lenses. Sometimes those older scopes are just 'too old'!

I prefer to date younger ones, fewer scratches and dents, internals are usually cleaner too, work better.
Wait, what are we talking about exactly?

Respect is something you earn. Equality is something you whine about not being given. |
