My hunting partner bought the Toric 10x42 binocular which promptly had the eyepieces (both) fall to pieces on the first hunt. He said they offered a replacement, but he just got a refund. He is now going for Meostar HDs.

This story sounds suspect, more details needed.  The binocular reports so far

have been all positive, so ?

jonlacorte: Hello and welcome to TRACT....Here to help if you have any questions.

Response scopes are they 1 inch or 30 mm tubes? total MOA or MIL adjustment range windage and elevation?

jonlacorte: Hi, the RESPONSE scopes feature a 1" tube. The 2.5-10x42 model has 60 MOA of internal adjustment the 4-16x42 has 44 MOA

What sounds suspect?

Just one consumer's experience. I just relayed it here, as it seems on topic. Could be an isolated incident, but it happened.

A second hand report of both eyepieces falling out of the binocular, that is BS.

Not sure why you would post that.  You have lost some credibility, if you want to know.

A few things:

First off, I made a mistake in my second-hand report.  I meant to write eyeCUPS, not eyepieces.  My mistake.

Secondly, I have no interest in making TRACT out to be bad.  In fact, I recommended to my friend to give them a try, based on the positive reviews.

Thirdly, It seems some members here know the folks at TRACT, and they could probably verify the incident if it would make you feel better.

This was one of my closest friends and hunting partners.  I value his opinions and experiences.  It definitely isn't BS.  Maybe his account provides a fuller picture for somebody else.

As far as my credibility with you goes, you can decide that for yourself.  My credibility with him remains unchanged, and that is what matters to me.

Eye piece -- eye cup... same thing happened with my Swaro CL bino, just twisted out of the housing. Repaired, no further issues.

Odd it may be, I still count it as one of the finest glassing instruments I"ve ever owned.

Bet Tract would do the same.

I have that Toric, and the Diamondback isn't in the same league as the Toric.  Not even close.
