Anyone have hands on yet?
I've run almost all the USO scopes with the exception of the one I always wanted, the 1.8-10X. The price looks great on the new series, but I hate paying to beta test someone's "almost ready" optics. Kahles burnt me on that too many times. I might soon have a NightForce NXS 2.5-10 for sale. I do love the EREK knob, but it looks like they redesigned it, that makes me a bit nervous!

It's been several years since I got a up close and personal look at a USO 1.8-10X at GA Precision in Kansas City but I really liked having the flexibility that that power range gives. Always just a bit past my budget but..... someday.
HMMMM wish you hadn't kicked that sleeping dog I really want a scope with a horus reticle. USOMR10H425 Horus H425, EREK 1/10 MIL Ele., US#1 1/10 MIL Win. |

I called USO a couple weeks ago and the gal on the phone said availability would be around April....at least for an MOA reticle.
I've been interested in their MR-10 for a while, but now with improved features I guess. I questioned why the price went DOWN....wondering if they were farmed out, over-seas, etc. She assured me they will be made in-house with more stream-lined manufacturing practices. I'll probably buy the 10 Bravo in MOA sometime in 2017.....after I hear more about them.

Yes, there are many, probably not so much here, but they are out there. As a single data point - I still have the NF2.5-10x42 and still like it. I decided not to go with the USO as: 1. The NF has been rock solid. 2. I love the EREK knob but seldom turn turrets on this particular gun. 3. I haven't had an activation energy event to make me want to swap for any real purposes. I know that doesn't help much, sorry. But if looking for something in that range and price point, the NF is a good option and a very well vetted optic.

I was wondering how you feel about the NF 2.5-10X42 compact scope you been using.Im thinking about one of these for my 10/22.It seems to have everything I need for up close to far out shooting.

Nightforce calls it compact, I am not sure I would, but that is a different issue.
On its use, I still like it for what it is and what it does well. For a 10/22, it might be overkill, but that is hardly a reason to not get it. They list the parallax range as 25-infinity, does that work for your purposes? I like the scope, and for hard use rifles, I am not sure there is a better option (with illumination) than Nightforce.

Thank you for your input on the scope. This 10/22 is a Kidd super grade so this scope would not be overkill for me.I shoot out to 300 yds with it and 10X works good for me out to 300 yds.The parallax at 25 yds is a + for Rim Fire,The weight is good and the mil-r reticle will work good for hold overs.Looks like I might add it to my wish list.

Lots of folks shoot within 25 yards with rim fire, which is why I bet he was asking if 25 was okay. lots of rimfire shooters like them to go to 10 yards. Just a thought

Yes, was asking because most rimfire shooters want 10+, and 25 seems a bit far for a 10/22. But, yours doesn't seem to fit in the usual 10/22 category.
Be aware that the scope is SFP - or mine is - so holdover is only on at 10X.

Im not a target shooter ,just like shooting critters and little sh*t at long range.I have other 10/22 for close sh*t with a Kahles 1X6 and a swfa 1X4.It would be better at 10 yds but it is no big deal.
