This is the result from some loosely related threads.  I've finalized a deal with an Irish guy for EII/E2 binoculars.  Hoping to receive them next week.  I'll report here once I check them out.

For years, I have been using the 8x32 Superior E. But I could have gone to my grave being happy with an E II. You've made a good choice, so just go out and have fun.

Received the EII 8x30 binoculars.  They are BNIB condition and complete.  First quick setup and test resulted in my review.  They are real nice binoculars and the view is outstanding.  Will play outside tomorrow but very satisfied.

Bob:

Enjoy the EII, they are very good, and if your eyes and experience with

binoculars are up to it, you will understand.

Thank you for your help on this adventure.  It turned out the original seller and I could not reach a deal.  He was honest and a good negotiator.

When a guy adds automatic high level clean, service, and adjustment (decided this was required with the E model) the EII became cost effective to me.  Once I bought into the reality that decent binos are not dirt cheap EII's became acceptable to me.

You mention vision.  Thursday I was diagnosed with mild cataracts and EIIs arrived on Friday!  Ongoing chemo has also affected my vision.  Motivation for this nice bino was to get me up and out the door with an added new hobby to make it easier to walk a lot.

I adjusted the focus using Mayday tree berry clumps across the street.  Wow, the colors seemed identical or !  I then focused on a black vehicle and it rendered with the same deep black.  Venus last night was a large pinpoint with no apparent collimation problems in further star viewing.  Please note that we are snow covered with low raking afternoon light this time of year.

Again, thanks ND,
Bob, Calgary, AB
