Kinda heavy, if you ask me (8.75 lbs). But interesting where they're going with rifles now:

At least you wouldn't have to get rid of a factory stock, although it might be better to just find a good deal on a trad rifle, sell the stock for $100 and pay $235 for the Magpul.
Reaction time is a factor...

The ones I've had in hand have too much flex in my opinion. Probably ok for a basic truck gun but I wouldn't expect it to hold zero especially well. The bottom "metal" is a good option that can be set in a standard Rem 700 stock with some mods and you get a box mag ready to go. I've done a couple of them and I like em pretty good.........

Is it "metal" or a synthetic sarge?

Bottom metal couldn't be worse than Tikka, which is plastic.

Truth be told, if you are breaking the bottom metal in a hunting rifle, I'd be way more concerned about other things being impacted too.

I was actually wondering because if it was a synthetic and it can easily be added to other stocks it would be a good option for light weight rigs. I am not worried about breaking it.

They make a stock for the 700 Tactical AAC model too. I'd rather keep my stock Hogue before I'd spend that much on a magpul stock. I think there are better options for the money.

I have heard very good things about their Rem 870 stock as far as recoil reduction and fit.
