I belong to a facebook group about 300 blk ARs. It seems a large number of the folks on there are out to build the tiniest 300 blk ARs possible. We are talking 6.5 in barrels, and then either a collapsible butt stock or pistol stabilizer (which most of these can be shouldered based on the latest BATF letter) that just make the guns crazy small. Amazing how tiny they are getting them.
A lot of the folks get around there state hunting laws where they cannot hunt deer with "rifles" but can with "pistols". Also they can carry they loaded in vehicles because they are considered a "pistol", where their permit does not allow rifles. Not really my cup a tea, but cool none the less. as examples. Lifetime warranty and excellent customer service don't mean a thing when your gun fails during a zombie attack.

just because you can do something doesn't mean you should..... this defines pistol AR's IMO |

Makes me wonder what it would be like to fire a barrel-less AR.

short AR's are "cool", but I gotta have a regular buttstock. I tried a pistol AR when I was waiting for my sbr stamps and it was a no go for me. I just like being able to get a proper weld and eye relief.

I'd rather have some heft in a pistol firing a rifle bullet, as most of you guys know.

As said before, the most awesome part of the short barrel AR is that each round fired is pretty much a flashbang too. Short barrels are loudloudloud (yes, 3 louds.) And I like how the one above, with the flaming pig and a hand stop under it, has a rear sight but no front sight. My guess is people make these to look cool, then almost never shoot them. I bet that 223 with the super-short barrel is as reliable as a broken watch.

I guess as long as the ATF is bringing in money on form 1s and form 4s for short barreled rifles and not form 1s on new machine guns they will be happy.
Just think of all the gun owners they are registering. |

Life's concerns should be about the 120lb pack your trying to get to the top of the mountain, and not the rock in your boot.
