Nikon advertises their Nikoplex reticlewhich sort of looks like a heavy duplex in their photo. Are they actually heavier than other manufacture's duplex, or is it just an illusion? Thanks.

Each manufacture varies slightly on the subtension of the reticle. Some publish those measurements others don't. I know my older prostaff has a duplex and its very heavy.

My UCC is a little heavier than a Leupold standard VX1. The BDC one I have is heavy.

My two UCC's, 2-7 & 3-9 are about the same as the standard Leo duplex. Too thin for use in the woods at dark thirty.

I have one UCC 6X42 plex. It is a very bright scope but the reticle is super thin IMO.

I have three Monarch UCC’s a 2-7 X 32 plex , a 3-9 X 40 plex and a 2.5-10 X 40 BDC. The BDC appears to be heavier.
I also have two Monarch Gold 30 mm, a 1.5-6 X 42 Niko Plex and a 2.5-10 X 50 SF BDC. The 1.5-6 X 42 in Talley mounts lives on a TC G2 .45 muzzleloader and is my favorite of all the Nikon’s. I killed a nice buck at zero dark thirty set on 1.5 when it was kinda dark😂a couple years ago. These days my favorite is my Leica ERi on my Creedmoor. |

I have the Monarch 1-4x20 with no 4 and LOVE it and hunt with it. works in low light.
I also have the Monarch 2-8x32 with plex and find it excellent and bright and sharp for low light deer hunting. Performance before sunrise and after sunset does not seem to be an issue. I would like to have a Monarch Gold 1.5-6, but they are hard to find. |

The Nikon Monarch 7 3-12x56mm SF Riflescope Riflescope is great for scenarios where a top quality rifle scope is the key to results. Made working with amazingly reliable materials, these through the optics professionals at Nikon Sport Optics can provide a great deal of reliable and efficient service.

Yeah Nikon makes great stuff that breaks. Every POS I’ve had with Nikon on the side has broken: scopes, binos, camera. No thanks. Had one scope that last two shots before it let go. QC at its finest.

I have not had the greatest luck with recent Nikon designs, but I have not tried their latest FFP scopes.
The last Nikon scope I looked at carefully was the M-300 1.5-6x42. It was such a piece of crap that I had Nikon send me a second one, which was also a piece of crap. Weirdly, I liked the recently discontinued Buckmasters. Also, I tested Monarch 2.5-10x42 and thought it was a very decent scope for the money, although admittedly its value comes from it staying at its price point while many newer designs are more expensive. With Monarch 7, I never did any thorough testing. I had a brief look at it and decided to not spend the time on it. It did not agree with me all that much. ILya
