Dogger, If your interested, you might contact Wallace @ Rock USA. He does repairs & restorations. He might have a replacement blade for your Schrade, or know someone who has one. For many years, Camillus , Schrade & Western were under the same corporate umbrella. Camillus produced knives under contract for many different names and brands including Buck, Cold Steel,  Case , the list goes on,,,,

Thanks for the tip HM, I'll check on that - depending on cost might be worth a look.

I’m from Syracuse originally and lived in Camillus for a number of years. The rep group that I work for represented Crosman air guns and at one point Crosman owned Western Cutlery. We visited Western in Longmont, CO and couldn’t believe how spotless clean the factory was.

Back in the day when Camillus was making Buck folding knives I think everyone in town had a couple Buck folders😂.

I still have a few Westerns and Bucks.

That knife you got Megan looks like ones I grew up around. Out west that was the hunting knife to have back in the ‘60’s & ‘70’s. Just about everyone in our deer club had one hanging off the side of their belt, the other side hung a leather ammo pouch. I was just a youngster back then and preferred carrying a stag handle buck folder.

VINTAGE SCHRADE USA 165 OLD TIMER HUNTING SKINNING LEATHER BELT SHEATH KNIFE | Knife, Leather, Leather belt

Years ago on the farm in Kansas I gave Meghan an Old Timer that I got from my mother. She wore it on her belt as she ran through the woods and the barn.

One day she set it down on a tree branch outside while hanging around with her girlfriend and forgot about it.

That night it rained. We found it the next day all rusted up. I cleaned it up as good as I could.

I ought to try to find her another old vintage Oldie just like it.

I like those Schrade 165's for a general purpose field knife. I have a couple other Schrades, includeing the stainless Huncle Henry 165. But I wish I had picked up the carbon version Old Timer when they were still in production.
