Any?
I don't have the extra bones for the swfa version of this. Wish I did. What will I be giving up to get the Burris XTR? Edited by 338LAPUASLAP - April/13/2018 at 15:10 |

I've used the XTR II 5-25 a bit at the range in Yuma. One of the regulars there has two of them... on AR-10's (.308 and 6.5CM). I really like this scope a lot. Quite a value for the money. Tracks true (his is MOA on the .308, MIL on the 6.5CM), good mechanics, nice glass. I purchased a Leatherwood Phenom before I used this scope... wish I had had hands on with it first. I like the Phenom, but glass is not as good as I expected/wanted... it is a bit "diminished" at high power. The Burris is much better, optically. I think it is one of their best products. I neglected to look at it earlier because I was disappointed in the glass quality on the Eliminator (everything else on that scope I like, but glass is not above average)... just goes to show, every scope must be reviewed individually... cannot rely on quality of one to represent quality of another. I knew that, already, but some things get OBE... |

I was told the 4-20 version is a lot better than the 5-25.
Replacing some Uber with some Kaizen. |

That is, to me, personal preference. Henry, at Yuma, also has a 4-20 XTR II on a 5.56. I've shot a few rounds with it. It is nice, has a 1 mag lower bottom end, 5 mag lower top end. Difference, if any, in the middle is negligible, to me. I DO NOT recommend against the 4-20. If Burris did not offer the 5--25, the 4-20 would be next on the list, for me. Some people are not... I am a fan of magnification. I would rather dial down than not be able to dial up at need. That's why it is adjustable... |

So I was informed that past 18 the 5-25 has horrible tunneling and unforgiving.

Not the ones's I've used... Just an afterthought. I'm not recommending you, or anyone else, purchase one of these scopes (or any scope). I've almost always stated that I am not recommending a scope purchase... just giving information on MY personal experience and therefore my thoughts on the item. I don't discount or take anyone else's recommendations as gospel, don't expect them to do that with mine. I do evaluate other recommendations when I get the chance. All people are different, see things differently, think differently about what they see. I have no presuppositions when I evaluate a scope, see what I see and report it as I see it. My recommendation to virtually everyone is "get your hands on one and check it out". I've never believed that one sample of anything ever tells the whole story... including recommendation.
