Cory Suddarth, Navy Opticalman First Class is the only one IN AMERICA I would trust for an internal cleaning. The reason is he is the ONLY ONE now practicing who actually understands 3-axis collimation. And after the cleaning, the bino will need to be collimated and 100% of that Internet gibberish professing collimation “tips” is just that ... gibberish! It’s not that it’s hard. But lacking the PROPER equipment and UNDERSTANDING, too many refuse to chip a nail to get either. And as long as they are getting their egos stroked without chipping that nail, it will continue. 100% of their procedure concerns "Conditional Alignment" only. It will make the binocular adequate or great at one IPD. But ... clinical collimation that works at ALL IPDs ... it ain't! Cory is owner of Suddarth Optical Repair in Henryetta, Oklahoma. Attached is a photo of Cory (the tall one) and me in our heyday at Captain's Nautical in Seattle, wherein we took in repair and collimation work from “professionals” on both coasts and in the middle. Cory was my co-worker in the fleet, my employee at Captain’s Nautical Supplies, and my best friend of 42 years. Good Luck. Bill Cook, Chief Opticalman USN-Ret.
