Hi folks,
How do you put slings on your take down lever actions? I have a Chiappa Alaskan but it has no sling swivel studs so I'm a bit stumped. Help much appreciated. Scrummy Picture of rifle below: Edited by Scrumbag - October/16/2018 at 05:45 |

Uncle Mike’s, Allen, and maybe a couple others make sling swivel studs designed for lever actions. The front stud is a 2-pc ring that clamps onto the magazine tube like a scope ring, with a standard swivel stud on the ring. The rear stud is the typical wood screw type, so in the rear, you would need to drill a pilot hole in the buttstock to accept the screw stud.
If you don’t want to screw a permanent swivel stud in the buttstock, I’ve seen a sling made by someone that has a harness on one end that wraps around the butt and tightens with a buckle. If you don’t want to attach a mag tube mounted ring stud on the front, I guess you could always just attach the front of the sling to the tube with some paracord. |

Thanks RifleDude.
Will investigate further. Just a bit worried about putting load on the mag tube as not of heavy construction and is also part of the takedown mechanism. Thinking I might just put sling studs at the heel and front of the forend. Scrummy

For difficult sling mounts, I get a paracord job that cinches tightly around the barrel and buttstock. There is no hardware. I have an in-house source that is not SWFA so I cannot offer a link. If SWFA doesn't sell them, they should.

Urban, I have ordered a Slogun Outdoors shotgun sling (has paracord on it and a rubber "boot") for the stock.
Will report back. Scrummy
