I'm very intrigued by this and am looking forward to seeing examples.
What are your thoughts?

I love Meopta scopes... think the concept of these reticles is outstanding. They are doing something about one of the biggest complaints one hears from early morning and "last 10 minutes" hunters in a way that should appease even the staunchest "traditionalist". Great stuff.

I like it! I think this will have other scope manufactures scrambling to catch up.

I wonder if this new Dichroic-technology is a drawback in light transmission compared to "normal" coatings? Will I ever get used to see a (normally symmetrical) reticle with an unsymmetrical (varying) shape? Are my questions based on my age? Gerry Atric |

It shouldn't have any effect on light transmission. In general, when looking at a riflescope int he modern era, light transmission should not be of any interest. It simply does not matter any more.

Thank´s Koshkin, I´m old and somewhat affected by the european way of putting too much significance on light transmission.....I may change my view.... Eventually..... Gerry Atric

Talking about light transmission was important in the days before AR coatings. Not so much now.
Now, it is mostly pushed forward by marketing people since it is an easy thing to talk about. ILya

I was around when german/austrian manufacturers used the unit luminosity when measuring light transmission, (e.g, Kahles Helia 1966). From then til now I have realized three things, my eyes are different than other eyes - the manufacturers measure light transmission in different ways - I´m really struggling with low light nowadays. I really like those reticles, especially in the #4. I am looking forward to the scope power ranges they will be in.

Meopta is saying they will only be available in the 3-12X56 R1 initially upon launch and within the near future. More models will eventually be included, but that may not happen until 2020. |

TFB, meaning I’d like something smaller like a 2.5-10 x 42. But, that’s why they still make chocolate & vanilla! |
