Once again... please describe your problem. Much easier to try to come up with a solution if the problem is known.
Welcome to OT. Give a description of what you are experiencing and it is assured someone on the forum can assist. |

At 100 meters I'm way of in elevation . I can not move the crosshair anymore as it user the end. Now I want to use spacers from 1/2 Inch ..is this a good way to solve the problem .. or what is the best scope mount to use for this blazer R8 Burris Elliminator 3 combination.

Did the rail come on the rifle or did you (or someone else) install it? Spacers are never a good idea, generally a last weak resort. There is not a lot of internal adjustment in the Eliminator( only about 40 MOA). It is designed to allow for zero, then use the internal "computer" to calculate ballistics. What caliber, bullet weight/type, etc? Sounds, with the small amount of information, like your rail may be mounted improperly, but that is just a WAG. |

There are only 2 mounts available for Blaser rifles that adapt to the Burris Eliminator— the Blaser Picatinny Rail and the Blaser Weaver rail. Blaser uses its own proprietary saddle mount system, and they are the only source of rails that fit their saddle mount pockets on their barrels. They only fit in one orientation, so it’s not possible to install the saddle clamps incorrectly.
If you’re running out of elevation travel in your scope, and if you’re certain there is no mechanical problem with the scope itself, you don’t have many options I can think of. You could try machining some cant (slope) into the mount surfaces at the bottom of the scope. I haven’t examined an Eliminator in a long time, so I don’t know how feasible that is to do, and I don’t remember if the mounts are integral with the scope body or if they are removable from the scope body. If they’re removable, then it’s much easier to machine some slope into the surface that the mounts attach to the scope body. You could also machine some slope into the underside of the rail on the surface where the saddle clamp fingers attach to the rail, if they are separate pieces screwed into the rail. I have a Blaser K95, and on my Blaser mounts with 30mm rings, the rings are separate pieces from the saddle clamp part. I haven’t examined the Blaser rail mounts, so don’t know if the clamping fingers are separate or integral with the rail. |

Eliminator is going to have some really good competition next year that might be easier to mount. I know you already have the Burris but you could sell it or trade it and go with the SIG as it uses regular rings. Downside is you have to carry the rangefinder separately.

The SIG has better glass, fairly significantly (can you have something that is "fairly significant... it's either significant or it's not... colloquialism). Having to carry the independent laser is a detriment. However, nothing works if you cannot physically mount the scope properly. I have significant time and money invested in the Eliminator getting it set up on my Etronx. Knowing what I know now, I would make a different choice... but the Eliminator DOES work pretty well. Disappointing glass quality, though. |
