Just noticed that Weaver is not on the current Vista price list. Guess they had to pick one of the many optic brands they have, to sacrifice, due to them all competing against each other.

I could think of others I would sacrifice before Weaver.

I thought Redfield was a Leupold brand. Did Vista buy it while I wasn't paying attention?
If there are Weaver close outs, I will need to pick up a couple of rimfire scopes.

Yes, a Weaver rimfire and a 24x40 T would be nice.
Concur, some of the others should have gone buh bye before Weaver.

Weaver product line-up is in direct competition with Bushnell, so it is very redundant for them. I can see why they would discontinue it. That having been said, I would have re-purposed it for a couple of specific market niches and kept the name. ILya

It is sad, my very first scope was a 4x weaver. I shot a lot of rabbits with that thing. Til I slipped, fell, and it broke. It was a sad day for sure.

The rimfire 2.5-7 Weaver was my favorite of the rimfire scopes.

Corporate buyout is usually a symptom, not a cause. First a company is grossly mismanaged and loses a ton of money. Someone has to step in and buy the brand. They usually think there is enough rband equity and they do not have to invest in the brand equity and R&D, and all it will take is a good sales push. That blows up in their faces, so the brand is sold again, and so on. Unless, somewhere in that downward spiral they run into an entity that is willing to pay attention, it all goes to hell in a handbasket. ILya

I exchanged emails with Jake the optics manager at Vista, and he confirmed they've pushed the "hold button" on Weaver optics to focus on the Bushnell launches. Weaver bases and rings, however, continue strong. No new Weaver optics are planned at this point.
