I have always been fascinated with old ocean liners.....especially the SS Normandie from France.... ....the biggest, most luxurious ocean liner ever built........ I have a copy of this famous painting in my living room.....not too far from my Hermles Ship's Bell Clock.... I guess it all started when I found a copy of this book and became mesmerized by the sinking of the Titanic.... Anyway, the Normandie had a dining room larger than the Hall of Mirrors in Versailles....... |

My fascination with the Normandie started about 35 years ago when I read this book by Justin Scott.
It is a fictionalized story about a Nazi plot and a Nazi spy who sabotages the Normandie. The Normandie came to a sad end at Pier 88 in New York in 1942. But it didn't have anything to do with Nazis.... |

I watched the Smithsonian channel last night, and the had a show about the Queen Mary. The Normandie was discussed in the show as it was completed before the Queen Mary, and the Normandie was the largest and fastest cruise liner ever until the Queen Marry started service a year or two later.

Life's concerns should be about the 120lb pack your trying to get to the top of the mountain, and not the rock in your boot.
