Looking to replace an old and cheap fixed powered scope on a 22lr. I am trying to decide between the Weaver Classic Rimfire 2.5-7x28 or the Vortex Diamondback 2-7x35 Rimfire. Thank you.

Hard to go wrong with either but I'd say vortex considering the weaver brand may be hanging in the balance soon. The vortex has a slight power range and obj. size advantage as well.

What AKWHITE said. My wife has that same Vortex on her .22 Browning T-bolt and she has no trouble shooting golf balls out to 100yds with that setup.

Life's concerns should be about the 120lb pack your trying to get to the top of the mountain, and not the rock in your boot.

Dead right bud, especially if one of his "unsuitable" mutts tries to retrieve him.... ;)

I know this post is too old, but maybe will help new visitors.
Vortex Diamondback any day! The insane wide FOV you get with it is amazing. Had got it after my Crossfire II. I also own the Prostaff, but I have a thing for Vortex. So it makes it one of the best scopes for 22LR. You can read a detailed review about it at: https://patriotichunter.com/best-scopes-for-22lr-squirrel-hunting-competition/
