I just recently purchased a new Leupold VX5-HD FDR in the 3-15 x 44 MM configuration for my Weatherby Range Certified .25-06.
I zeroed my rifle at 100 yards and sent all the ammo load data to Leupold via their website, to get my new custom dial. It arrived last week and I installed it in under 5 minutes. I have not had a chance yet to shoot the rifle at different ranges to check the CDS but will do so hopefully soon. I was talking with a co-worker this week telling him about my new scope purchase and about how excited I was to try out the CDS. He immediately begin to let me know that I shouldn't have very high expectations that Leupold's CDS will work properly. He said that when I start dialing up and shooting, then dialing back down and shooting that it will eventually lose it's zero. He claims there are lots of tracking and repeatability issues with their CDS. I have done lots of reading on the net and I can't really find much at all on there that supports what he has told me. So, I'm asking you good folks that have these scopes, does Leupold's CDS work well? Leupold claims it does. I hope I'm not in for a big disappointment.

I use two of their cds scopes. A vx-5 and a vx-6I did not personally have custom dials made, i just dial moa. But in my two samples they have kep their zeros pefectly. I have had the vx5 to 1200 yards and back and everywhere in between. The vx6 to 900 and back and no issues for either of them. No brand is perfect, but yours will likely be fine.
