Mr. big shot retired Entomologist (me) got stung by a scorpion this am. Innocently, I picked up the dish cloth to clean up the breakfast dishes. Little bast*** was hiding in it. Guess last night cold blast drove him indoors. Hurt like hell for a few minutes. I’ll probably live though!
If we're not suppose to eat animals...how come they're made of meat?

When you are dead, you don't know you are dead.It is difficult only for others.

It is the same when you are stupid.

I had a scorpion curl up in my underpants one day in a hotel in Tucumcari, New Mexico. I got out of the shower and was about to grab my unders when I spotted what looked to be a rolled up rubber band on my jockey shorts!

Huh!!?

So I TOUCHED IT (!!!!) and it uncurled instantly into a freakin' scorpion!!!!  Shocked

......Holy crap! I went out into the bedroom and got a Guns & Ammo magazine and smacked that little bastard to the Happy Hunting Ground!   Big Grin

Many years ago....and probably millions of times since.....we had tractor-trailer vans parked on our drilling rig locations up in Wyoming. We would order 'product' to mix in our MUD system....( drilling fluid...).

One of the 'remedies' we use is fiber, and shredded paper, and cotton seed hulls to combat Lost Circulation. When your mud is leaking out ( or POURING OUT ) of your wellbore you mix this STUFF into the fluid to try to plug up all the cracks and gaps and whatever is stealing your mud!

CEDAR FIBER is a goodie!

So we had a trailer load of cedar fiber on location that came from Junction, Texas.

Scorpions love cedar. They LIVE in it! There were THOUSANDS of freakin' scorpions in that van running all over those fifty pound sacks!  We had to be careful when mixing 100 sacks of fiber into our mud system!

( I hope the Wyoming winter killed all of them...)

Not many scorpions in Ky., but there are enough other bad bugs here to make you stay aware, and the little bastads still manage to stick ya, bite ya, or sting ya.
Wont be long before we're buying Deep Woods Off by the case.
Life's concerns should be about the 120lb pack your trying to get to the top of the mountain, and not the rock in your boot.
