Nice options for those that have to use those restricted rounds for hunting..... an anemic 450 bushmaster lol. Reading on the round it sounds like a neat one and should have plenty of support given it uses the 223 as the parent case....... reminds me of the blackout but instead of necking down after cutting you leave it open.

Looks interesting if you want to put a fairly deer capable round in a CZ527 sized action

CZ 527 is available with 6.5Grendel and 7.62x39 which can take down deer quite nicely. This round is for states where for some unknown reason you can only use straightwalled cartridges for hunting. ILya

The reasoning, from my understanding, is with a straightwall case its near impossible to get a long range, ballistically speaking, performance round. IE after a few hundred yards its tapering out..... minimal risk to surrounding homes/communities/structures. At least from my understanding.

that's it when its aimed straight out... obviously aimed up its possible to hit farther away but aiming at a deer at 200 and missing would end up with the bullet in the ground at about 350-400 and not over travel like say a 6.5 Grendel

Ah yes, that's true. Superimposing our silly laws about having a minimum ME of 1700ft lbs and certainly for the 7.62x39 needs some careful loading for... Scrummy

Southern Michigan has a maximum straight walled case length of 1.80 inches. The .450 Bushmaster is the present darling in that regard. This .350 gives another choice. It may be because of the hunter/population density ratio we have this law. For now, it is better than what we were just a few years back, shotgun and muzzle loader only. I can use a 22-250 for varmints in the south zone, though.

Iowa only the last couple of years has started allowing the straight walled cartridges. I'm looking at them but still have my musket handy- it consistently makes stuff hit the ground. Ruger is also coming out with a semi auto .40 S&W chambered PC carbine which would be deer legal here while the 9mm version is not.
