I found an old Gerber knife, I had never really used, recently. Though not one hand opening, I have recently been carrying it. The blade is holding an edge quite well and to my surprise, there is no wobble at all with the molded Zytel handle.
This was a Blackie Collins design done personally for Pete Gerber. An interesting story behind it is that it was an in house design so Blackie couldn't get royalties. So he asked Pete Gerber for a Corvette since Blackie was a car and motorcycle nut. Of course, he got his Vette. Too bad he died some time later in a motorcycle accident as I'm sure he would still be a great influence in the knife world.
