Hello.
I recently picked up an old CH Die Company 12x Varmint scope, which is externally adjustable for windage and elevation. In Nick Stroebel's book there isn't much on these but he indicates it would have most likely been produced in the mid-60s. I originally wasn't planning on using it, but just wanted it for my collection. However I may change my mind about using it and now am trying to determine a period correct mount for it.I have have some Stith Master mounts and a couple of old Bausch Lomb mounts which have elevation and windage adjustments on them, but they require taking the the lenses off to fit them on the scope, which won't work for this one. The next option I have are Leupold Adjusto rings and mounts but those are currently being used on other setups, and are about a decade too old for this scope. So I guess my question really is, what mounts would this scope have been designed to use? I cannot find any indication that CH made their own mounts for them and am under the, maybe mistaken, impression that by the mid 60s mounts with the adjustments on them where no long really around. Any ideas? Thanks. |
