As most all here know I am a reloader with a propensity to be frugal! (Some say boarder line cheap)
I will not bore you with the details of why I actually bought factory ammo. I did it to support a good company.
I ordered a case and it was shipped on Thursday I received it last night about a quarter to six. I was headed to the range anyway so I grabbed the box and off I went. I had watched a video that lowlight from Snipershide had done on the ammo and it seemed to resemble my hand loads. I figured what the heck, load up a magazine and let it fly. And fly it did.

First shot. Crono'ed at 2830fps.

I saw that and thought, heck let's run it out to 517 yards (the farthest we have steel at the club)
I didn't bother to dial in the dope just held over on the 2.4 Mils on the reticle.

Shots 2,3 and 4.

That is a spent 6.5 case, my 3 shot group was about half MOA. I seriously doubt most could match
the accuracy of this ammo and it's factory!

Bravo Zulu Prime Ammo.

Steel... no one will accuse you of being "border line"...

But... just what I've been saying all along about much of the "factory" ammo.  Hand loading opens up some options in projectiles, velocities, so forth.  If I look, as hard as I have to look for and sort components, I can find some danged accurate and precise "factory" ammo.  Takes nothing away from the art of handloading... yep, I can eventually build exactly what I want to go into and come out of my firearm... but it isn't magic and it isn't all science... art.   It took Michaelangelo a total of 9 years to paint the Sistine Chapel and he lost a majority of his vision in the 1st 4 years due to the long hours and intensity of the work.  Art is tough work...

"Factory" of today and "factory" from 20 years ago are worlds apart. And I too run Prime Ammo, it is great stuff, my 6.5CM loves it.

Reloading is what you do to tune and tweak and obsess about smallest possible groups or biggest numbers on the chrono. I am not doing much reloading now, as I am doing not much shooting for groups or velocity.

Handloading was therapeutic for me, now I get my therapy in other ways - so haven't been reloading much. That, and I have moved twice in the past 9 months.

So very true.
There are still some "tweaks" I am enjoying, still some therapy to be had, but I could have purchased a LOT of ammo for what I've spent in being able to load my own.
