just doing some target practice with my S&W M22A-1.  Now, I've fired THOUSANDS of rounds of .22, I use .22 to practice all forms of shooting... cheap, low recoil, relatively easy to maintain the guns, all the concepts apply to other calibers...
NEVER had I had this happen before...

Aquila .22 Interceptor... I could not find the end of the case that broke off.  Bullet left the barrel, got a LOT of smoke... took a cleaning rod and pushed the case out.  Slight damage to the magazine when the gun tried to load another round into the chamber... fixed, no other issues.  HOWEVER... this makes me wonder about this Aquila ammo... I have about 10000 rounds of this stuff left.

Aguila Ammunition is a Mexican manufacturer of firearms cartridges, under Industrias Tecnos of Cuernavaca. Industrias Tecnos was established in 1961, under the name Cartuchos Deportivos de México (It was changed to Tecnos in 1978), as a manufacturer of sporting and rimfire cartridges in collaboration with the American Remington Arms

It has always been a last resort ammo choice for me as I have little confidence in the quality standards. And collaboration with Remington Arms causes more concern because Rem 22lr ammo has proven substandard for as long as I can remember. Sorry to hear you have so much. I'd start putting it in yard sales and try to recoup some of my money and buy CCI, Winchester or maybe Federal. Although the last Federal I bought has not been consistent in velocity. Haven't seen case head separation like that before but not surprised. Most of the time it is an issue with unprimed cases.

Be careful!! Happy shooting!

Salute!

does your barrel have the lead ring right in front of the chamber?  I have had several .22s get that and as a result had pressure issues.
Lifetime warranty and excellent customer service don't mean a thing when your gun fails during a zombie attack.

What do you do to get rid of that lead ring?
