I bought a 1-5x24 Minox ZX5 off of the Minox website not to long back, and have the intention of mounting it on a 378 Weatherby for a buffalo hunt in August.

The scope seems well made, and the glass is fine, but I am worried that it may not stand up to the punishment of a very heavy recoiling rifle.  The price point they were selling these at makes me question if it is a mid to lower tier optic, but I can't find any good information.

Does anyone have any experience with these scopes on heavy kicking rifles they could share here?  I would appreciate any help you might offer.

ZX5 is generally a very solid design, so it is definitely not a low tier optic.  Minox is going through some model changes, so there are some good deals out there.

Whether it it will stand up to 378 Weatherby is anyone's guess though.  That's a boomer.

I think I’d call up the folks at Minox and ask them if their scope will withstand a steady diet of .378 Wby recoil before I mounted it and trusted it to stay zeroed during an expensive hunt.

I have no personal hands on experience with this scope, but it is one I researched back when I was looking to scope my Champlin custom .378 Weatherby Magnum.  Minox assured me that the ZX5 line was specifically designed for high recoil use, completely built in Germany.
I ended up going with Swarovski 16Z6i... because I found one on the SWFA Samplelist for an outstanding price.  I've never regretted the choice, having fired several hundred rounds of, mostly, Weatherby 270 grain (several boxes of 300 grain).  However, Minox was my most likely second choice... first if I had not found the Swarovski.
After a bit of use with the rifle, I actually believe it is better suited for a 1-10 power scope... it definitely has the legs.

That is a "for what it's worth...".  I also remember it is somewhat limited in adjustment range.
Opinion,untempered by fact,is ignorance.
