I recently acquired a Zeiss Diatal 4x32-C 1" scope with a rubber objective bell. I cannot find anything about this scope. Does anyone know anything about them? Year? quality? etc?

They were made in the 1980’s, but are outstanding quality scopes, optically excellent even by today’s standards. Then again, it’s not very difficult to produce an optically excellent fixed 4x scope. When you find them in decent condition, they generally go for around $300. Fixed 4x riflescopes just aren’t popular or desirable to most hunters. I personally think a high quality fixed 4x or 6x makes an excellent hardcore “set and forget” big game hunting scope, but I’m kinda “old school.”

I snagged this one on Gunbroker for $216, so I was quite pleased. It is on my Marlin 39A at the moment because it happens to have fine crosshairs. They didn't list what reticle it had but for that price I wasn't arguing.
