I finished mounting the CRM8 today in a 20MOA Aadmount on a built-up 6.5 Grendel. The reticle is exactly what its name implies... close to medium range. After zero and setting the zero stop, I have the ability to reach slightly over 1000 yards (calculated, not yet confirmed). I like the zero stop (zero lok), but it has a limitation some will not care for. Once the zero lok is "set" there is 12 mils UP adjustment available, 1mil DOWN adjustment. Since I have a 20MOA base, I should have very nearly 23 mils UP adjustment, but can only use 12 with zero lok set. However, with the Grendel, that does get me to just over 1000 yards. I zeroed at 20 yards, then adjusted the allowed 1mil down and was dead center at 100 yards. That works well. Gives me BSZ to right at 300 yards. AZ adjustment, once zeroed and zero lok set, is 6 mils left and 6 mils right (1/2 turn either direction from zero).
Very little tunneling. Some, but not bad. I get used to it and it doesn't matter anymore. Virtually gone above mid power. Good Field Of View (FOV) Glass: good, not great...about the same quality as the PHENOM scope by the same maker. View is clear... clean "edge to edge". To me, glass on the ART scopes is noticeably better. Adjustments: 34 mils AZ and EL, but EL only allows 12 mils UP once zero lok is set. Adjustments are crisp, audible and tactile and come with solid screw on covers. There is no parallax adjustment, which I think it needs. Diopter is easy to adjust. Has a built-on magnification throw lever, which is very convenient. Reticle: Personally, I like it. Easy to acquire, very fast on target. I got the green illuminated... wish I had gotten the red... green washes out, red is visible under much "brighter" conditions. In low light to full dark, the illumination is very good, even at highest setting. Reticle graduations are difficult to see at low power, even with illumination "on". Tube: 34mm, solid. Comes with lens caps. Fired 14 rounds today, two 5-shot groups after zero and within 3/4 to 1/2 MOA without concentrating very hard. Nice scope, glad I got it. Will provide more details once I've had some time to wring it out some more. Well worth the price... so far. |

I am glad you like the reticle. It is a somewhat polarizing design, but it works as intended. ILya

Why "polarizing"? As with most reticles, some will like it, some will hate it, some will love it, some won't care. It DOES work, there are a few things that are less than perfect in implementation, but I definitely like it... may love it with use.
