I bought a Bushnell Elite LRTS 4.5 - 18 X 44 with illuminated G3 small "Xmas tree" reticle for my mountain rifle, a 6.5 PRC  Browning X-Bolt Pro. (6 lbs. 3 oz. "naked")

For longer range hunting here in Nevada the LRTS seems a very good choice. It has everything I wanted such as FFP, mil/mil turrets and reticle, that Xmas tree reticle for wind holds W/O dialing and the entire reticle is illuminated, not just some small center dot as in the overpriced Leupold hunting scopes in that same price range of around $1,000.

I would have liked a lighter scope (mine weighs 30 oz. with the illumination feature.) I put it in Talley bronze Cerakote rings to match the color of the rifle's Cerakote. I got the top half rear ring with the bubble level since i'm used to using a level for competition, as I am a much larger and busier H59 Xmas tree reticle.

BUT ALAS dear readers, Bushnell no longer makes this excellent scope according to their customer service guy.  Too bad as it is a great design and of very high quality. And if ever there was a great long range hunting reticle it is the G3, developed by George Gardner of rifle action design fame. And that 6.5 PRC I shoot was developed from Gardner's ideas. Consider it a "6.5 Creedmoor on steroids".

There are several of the LRTS models in FDE color but those have no reticle illumination, only the black ones do. I suspect there are still a few of the black illuminated models out there.

Primary Arms has a similar scope for around $600. if you're interested.
