Hello Forum Members - I've inherited some older military scopes that I'm hoping someone can help me to confirm identification and value? First is a Hensoldt-Wetzlar Fero Z24 scope in good condition (1240-12-144-0714) with an HK91 STANAG claw mount and AR carry handle mount. Second is an AEG Telefunken 5X Gen 1 night sight/scope with an AR carry handle mount, also in good and working condition. Third is an NAIT 5191 night sight/scope with a LaRue Tactical LT100 ACOG QD mount that appears very similar to an NL-87 but with a different battery configuration (the NAIT 5191 takes an SF123A 3-volt in the side battery compartment, but the top compartment is for a strange size battery approximately 1" tall and 1" in diameter?). I have a picture of all three, but I can't figure out how to insert it! Thanks in advance for your information.

Well you need 50 posts in order to be able to post a photo. Maybe you can find somebody on this site that can help you with all of those wartime scopes.

Thanks Ed! That picture is exactly what the Hensoldt-Wetzlar Fero Z24 looks like. Any idea on value?

I'm finding more information about the NAIT 5131 (North American Integrated Technologies) night vision scope with 140mm objective that I listed in my original post - suspected to be a refurbished AN/TVS-5. It has a day/night adapter which is pretty cool. It appears that NAIT refurbishes AN/TVS-5 military observation/night scopes. The AN/TVS-5 was intended as a longer range dual observation scope with reticle, next up from the AN/PVS-4. The original build/design of the AN/TVS-5 was by Optics Electronics Corp who also used the NVS-800 designator, and made in Israel by New Noga Light designated the NL-87. The AN/PVS-4 and AN/TVS-5 are 2nd generation after the Vietnam era AN/PVS-2 Starlight scope. I suspect my NAIT 5131 is a first version of an AN/TVS-5 refurb possibly with a 3rd generation intensifier tube, because NAIT lists a "TVS-5 Gen2 7X Night Vision Scope" on their website for $950 (product is sold out). Amazon also carried these NAIT scopes starting back in 2014, but currently unavailable. I figured out the battery situation as well. There are two battery ports and the scope works with a 3V CR123 battery in one of the ports which NAIT provided an adapter to hold that more common/cheaper battery. The other original battery port accepts the 3V BA-5567A/U battery which are ~ $20 each. Typical of military duplicity, the scope will work with a battery in just one port. These night scopes allegedly are known for quality optics and are sought after but difficult to find. Also reputed to be great for holding zero and withstanding recoil.
Still looking to OpticsTalk members for a used value for this NAIT 5131 and the other two scopes listed in my original post?!

Probably not..... unless you have the correct paperwork from Dept. of State. Most optics that are battle type use are highly restricted regarding export.
