I have a Weatherby Vanguard 300 Wby Mag and am looking at a Leupold Vari IIx 3 x9x50 scope. Will the Leupold High rings accomodate this scope and what mount would be suggested? cw4usa Edited by cw4usa |

yes, high rings will work fine, and i would use the leupold standard rings.bases. you could consider either a burris FF2, or the bushnell 4200, in the same price range of the VX2. cory Edited by redneckbmxer24 |

Here is a link to a helpful post. Click on the link named Leupold Mount Wizard and select your rifle (its the very last one in the drop down selector) and your scope, then press Select Mounts. It will give you links to every possible combination from Leupold. Edited by Chris |

cw4usa, if your reasoning for going with a 50mm objective is for " brightness", then I would give very serious consideration to what redneckbmxer24 stated. Leupold builds strong scopes, however, their optics leave a lot to be desired when compared to the Bushnell Elite 4200 and Burris FF ll's. I own 3 Vari-Xlll's and none of them can compare to the above mentioned scopes. Also, you can use medium height rings with either. Good luck.

Many thanks to all of you who responded to my request. After much research and deliberation (and in no small part, your advice,) I ordered a Burris FF2 3.5.-10X50 scope today. I'm looking forward to getting the weapon zeroed with this new scope. Again, Thanks to all of you. cw4usa |
