I need to find a left-handed Tikka Whitetail Hunter in .308, short of that I would take  .30-06.  If anyone knows where I could find one I would appreciate it.  I have already called Beretta and their distributors, I am hoping that there has to be one sitting in a gun store somewhere.  Thanks for the help.

Ozark Guns is a little cheaper and would probably come shipped in an unopened box.  The auction seller includes scope mounts and has apparantly rebedded the action, which would probably be worth the extra $50, although I would contact him/her to confirm how it was bedded and who did the work.  You may also want to ask about the extra magazines, as I am unsure whether the "35.00 to 45.00 dollar price" is an extra charge or just the retail value of the magazines alone.

As a left-handed shooter myself, I checked out one of these in a gun shop last year, and it seemed to be a very nice rifle.  The stock fit well and the bolt cycled smoothly, plus knowing that someone out there shot a sub-inch group with it before leaving the factory is comforting.  Feed it some good ammo and I don't think you could go wrong.

I appreciate the feedback.  Ozark doesnot have them they just have not updated their website in awhile.  I will give Auction Arms a look.  Thanks again.

Thanks for the help guys.  Auction Arms is the only one that appears to be updated.  And I am going to bid on the .308.  So keep away from it!

Hey ranburr.....what's wrong with the Tikka T-3?  I have 2 of them.......best bang for the buck out there.  I last got it in 7mag s/s for $510 from gunbroker.com.   Good Luck  Oh yeah, rings come with the T-3's

The main problems with a T3 for me:  1. I don't believe they are available in left handed models.

                                                           2. They are so darn ugly.

                                                           3.  I don't like using shims and one action length

                                                           4.  Plastic does not belong on a hunting rifle!

This rifle is actually a gift and it needs to look as good as it shoots.  I won't argue about the functionality of a T3, but it just may dethrone Savage for the ugliest rifle.  I actually bought the Whitetail Hunter today.

ranburr, you can't go wrong with the Whitetail Hunter either...I have one of those too.  What type of shims are you talking about?  I have Zeiss Conquest mounted on both of my T-3's with no problems.

They use shims so that they can get away with using the same action and magazine for every caliber.  Not shims for the scope mounts.

I've had the pleasure to shoot two Tikkas and they were both accurate 'outa the box'.They were both manufactured prior to the current ownership, though. They didn't seem that unattractive and besides, you you do get to see pretty nice groups.

I guess beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.  My nomination for ugliest rifle would be the new synthetic Winchester.....super shadow (I think)?  Tikka T-3 is super sweet in my opinion.  Both the Whitetail & T-3's shoot equally well.  All 3 of mine do shoot sub MOA with factory ammo....primrily Hornady Light and Heavy Mag.....cover them with a quarter.
