Depends on the gun, scope and price range I assume, but a gunsmith around here who's sort of a legend recommended the EAW scope mounts which are only sold through gunsmiths and go for $350.  The main selling points evidently are 1) speed of detach, i.e. a couple seconds and 2) I think they are guaranteed to hold their zero when snapped back in.  They are sold through http://www.newenglandcustomgun.com/ in the US and you can find more info here: http://www.eaw.de/English/body_english.html this is not an endorsement as I have never seen them in person or used them, but I always like hearing about such things.

I think that the Leupold QR is one of the best quick release mounts out there. They are incredibly repeatable and very strong. I have them on several of my hunting rifles and my Knight muzzleloader in the event that the state or regulations do not permit the use of scopes.
