like i said earlier i wasnt a remington fan until just recently but i am really starting to dig remington, i dont know how much you guys know about cars but im sure you have all seen the import tuners racing around your home town, and if you notice most of them are honda civics, the reason is because like the rem700 you can do all kinds of cool stuff to it to make it better, i know that analogy really sucked but its about all i could think of on the fly the one thing i see as an advantage in this thread is that the m700 has been around a long time.

Both your last two posts are 100% spot on! I couldn't agree more and won't even try to add my $.02.
Great assessments. Thanks for sharing. |

ok rifledude -
i'm going to send my deer rifles up for you to work on, ok?
you boys know too much!!!! ok, i am just jealous.
if i can print within an inch @ 100 with any of my deer rifles, i am more than happy.
BUT, i WILL pick your brains on souping up my 700p .223 in a few months. It will be my nickel shooter and will strive for the perfect group.
great posts, guys. keep em coming.

i get rather mad if my factory deer rifles dont print 1" groups @ 100, i work very hard at the reloading bench to make sure that the only thing that can screw up is the rifle or the shooter and in my life if it wouldnt shoot to my liking with factory ammo i have had 100% success by loading my own to get the accuracy i request, i know i probably wouldnt have to work quite so hard if i had some stock and action work done, but i prefer to make a self pride issue that i shoot to the best of my ability and if i feel i am shooting better than the rifle can then i send it in and if that doesnt help i sell it, but so far i have been lucky and some what good as well. ted is going to get my 300wsm one of these days to do some stock work.
that rifledude is an ace my friends they dont make em any better than him!! thanks ted |

Good points, alot of stuff that I did not know. I told you guys, Rifledude knows alot of stuff. These are the things you learn with experience around firearms and reading. Everytime I read a firearms magazine, I learn things like this and thats why I do not know why DC is against reading gun magazines. I knew about the barrel bolt and the button rifled barrels, but the bolt stop serving as the sear was new to me. This has been a great thread. Thanks RD. |
