ONE MORE PUSH TO END THE CLINTON GUN BAN

With only five days to go before the September 13th expiration of the 1994 Clinton gun ban, anti-gun activists across the nation are making a last stand to re-enact this ineffective legislation. But now time is running out. Congress is only in session three more days before the sunset, and because time is short, anti-gunners will be redoubling their efforts to extend the ban.

Originally enacted in 1994, the Clinton crime bill banned gun ownership by law-abiding citizens as the solution to violent crime. But anti-gun politicians were only able to pass the portion of the law banning military-style semi-automatic firearms after agreeing to "sunset" the ban in a decade.

Proponents of the ban have not been able to offer a shred of evidence over ten years that the Clinton gun ban has reduced crime. The National Institute of Justice (NIJ) commissioned an independent study that concluded, "We cannot clearly credit the ban with any of the nation's recent drop in gun violence. And, indeed, there has been no discernible reduction in the lethality and injuriousness of gun violence." Even one extremist gun ban group, the Violence Policy Center, has admitted that continuing the ban will not "make one whit of difference one way or another . . . if it doesn't pass, it doesn't pass." (National Public Radio, 3/11/2004)

Since the gun banners are trying now to persuade Members of Congress to renew the Clinton Gun Ban, we ask you to call, fax and e-mail your Representative today. Urge your Member of Congress to publicly oppose renewal of the ban and instead to support legislation that will actually remove violent criminals from America's streets. Please urge your family, friends and fellow hunters and shooters to do the same. Help dismantle part of the anti-gun Clinton legacy by acting today!

To all of you who think that Kerry and his buddies are not dangerous to our collective rights, you should read his record in the Senate about 1) what he terms as the Assault weapon of today.  2)How he has never missed a vote restricting and limiting our freedoms as they exist, and 3) The lengths he will go to for an election win without revealing his true identity.

He and the Brady people are not dead, but silent, and stealthily waiting for their chance to impose upon us all; the Draconian gun legislation of Canada, to include reloading components and the like.  A vote for Kerry/ Edwards is a vote that puts crooks, terrorists and the left wingers at ease about trampling our other Civil Liberties, and GOD forbid our lives...

Withing the last 10 yrs in this country alone, well over 70 people have been beaten to death with golf clubs.... Why is no one calling for their restriction or ban???

Is it because John Wayne or Charton Heston never did a golf movie?
Me thinks that just may be the case.....

Almost any hand held item, with a little imagination, can be used as a weapon .... or a tool.

I'm guessing "some day", if they are not stopped, they'll be wanting to take away our pocket knives, framing hammers, and chain saws as well.

did anybody see his campaign in WV where he accepted a remington 11-87 semi-auto shotgun, a gun that will be banned if he gets into office.

and did you hear how 50bmg's were banned in california monday when swarzeneger snuck it in. why would anybody with any brains ban a 50bmgi have NEVER heard of ANYBODY murdered with one, its really not a weapon of choice, weighing in 25-40 lbs, with enough muzzle blast to tear things apart, i dont think we really have to worry about anybody killing with them, not to mention the noise level.

There are some things that are core issues to the Democrats and I have never seen them go the other way, except for Bob Casey... Most Democrats give the Right to Life to the mother, not the baby because of whatever screw is loose in their head's.  But they do side on the same side as those who would save the Spotted Owl from destruction, and whatever other liberal issue they can find, which is not altogether bad... Some things do have merit.

Then they take the right of the people to protect themselves from an armed/unarmed home intrusion or terrorist assault, or from answering a call to an organized militia.  We think that because John Kerry accepted a semi auto shotgun in public that he won't do anything against we the gun owner's of these United States, once elected in office?!?!??   Are you sure that your political scope of things hasn't been fogged, by the Very Democrat that these Email replies were designed to countdown.... The Bill Clinton Gun BAN....  Are you sure you are fully awake??  Don't get sleepy on us, without telling another of us, so we can watch your post too!!  But we all have to be on guard for freedom... The Democrats did not mention those things that upset the vast majority of voters in the mainstream of things, because they want this to be a sneak attack on the White house.   They never mention those things in the Convention, because they know that most American's do not favor Same Sex Marriages, and a loss of Freedom; so that we can look more like Canada in the area of gun control.

I once went through a 12 hour search of my private vehicle, because the border guard thought that I was trying to smuggle a handgun into Canada.  He found a magazine and 6 bullets.  Before 09/11/01

Even though I assured him that I knew better and that I was not so stupid as to try this, he wanted to know what color my handgun was, the serial number's of it/them, whether they were registered by the police...  All manner of things.  He would take my word that I was an American citizen because of my residence in Pennsylvania, but not that I wasn't trying to smuggle illegal firearms into his country...  He asked if anyone was at home who could verify that these hand guns were safely locked up...  Was the ammunition separated from the gun's themselves?...  Who could verify this?    A full search of my being, was conducted. I was frisked. Nonetheless, after all of this,I had to call a lawyer.  I complied as much as possible, considering they have no jurisdiction, nor business enforcing these things.   It is  our right to Privacy.

I kept seeing a sign in the Custom's office.   Hunting in Canada...  Big experience... Small Price

Only if you place so little value on your right to own and responsibly use firearms!

I guess it all boils down to this.  How much do you trust that Kerry will do what he says he will do once elected??  Do you really trust him like we trusted President Bill Clinton, because we saw him carrying a shotgun on a hunt from the Duck's Unlimited hunt he was on???

Now, was it this week or last week that Kerry was for the war, and against the funding of it?   Or is he for the soldiers, and against the politicians who are keeping them there?  Is he warm on the concept of taking action, but short on the delivery of seeing it through to the end?

Real Freedom always has a high price, otherwise everyone could have it and it would not be so valued...... That is why our flag is predominantly RED.    Many paid with their very lives!

I do not think that we really thought all of this, Terrorist Hunt, through very well before we comitted ourselves to enforcing the U.N. directives, however   I do know who I trust, to see us through this... And he doesn't live in Massachusettes!

I know each man must make up his own mind, and carefully weigh his decisions on this matter...   But let me ask you this.... If someone hands you a firearm under Presidency of George Bush, your first obligation to yourselves and other's is to verify that it is unloaded.  For safety's sake.  Under John Kerry's reign, you won't be asked to handle any more firearms.  They will be pointed at you demanding all of your's...

             Which do you want?

                    Respectfully submitted,

                             Chasseur106

E-mail that is currently going around.

1. Don't Arrest Kerry in Shotgun Incident, Gun-Law Expert Says

A Gun-law expert Alan Korwin is calling for calm in the national uproar over John Kerry's possible serious gun violations during a recent photo op in Racine, W.V.

The national clamor over the Democratic presidential candidate, who took possession of a Browning semiautomatic shotgun outside his home state, reflects a problem with the laws and should not be used to arrest and prosecute the man, Korwin says.

A gun crossing state lines is heavily regulated thanks to John Kerry and his ilk.

"There are so many charges Kerry might face," according to Korwin, who has written seven books on gun laws, including the unabridged plain-English federal guide "Gun Laws of America."

1. Taking ownership of the shotgun gift, if he doesn't already have a valid Massachusetts Firearm Identification Card, could subject him to a two-and-a-half-year prison term in his home state. Since he has claimed publicly he owns firearms, chances are he has this critical piece of paper, Korwin says.

2. Bringing the firearm back to Massachusetts, if he received it from a private party, would be a federal felony under the 1968 Gun Control Act (five years in prison, $5,000 fine, 18 USC §922).

3. The only exemption that would allow him to bring it into his home state requires that he obtained it in a face-to-face transaction with a federal firearms licensed dealer (FFL). A private gift would not qualify.

4. If Kerry did get it from an FFL, he would have had to personally fill out and sign a 4473 form, required by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE), before the gift was given, under penalty of federal felony.

5. If Kerry did not personally undergo a "NICS" instant background check before the transfer from an FFL, he would have put the person conducting the transfer in some legal jeopardy, though the law contains a loophole that probably would save Kerry from additional harm (the dealer, not the recipient, suffers from failure to do the NICS check).

While gun lobbyists are inflamed that Kerry introduced a law that would outlaw this particular type of sporting shotgun and gun gifts in general, it is a good thing the law has not passed yet, because then it might be too serious a problem to simply ignore.

Korwin says that calls to indict Kerry are premature and "most certainly overkill. John Kerry should receive the same lenient treatment any other citizen deserves when innocently violating these complex and non-intuitive rules." At least give him a chance to explain, Korwin pleads.

Unfortunately, federal authorities from BATFE have been known in the past to be inflexible in their enforcement of even minor technical violations (note that none of these felony violations involve a victim or any sort of harm). With widely circulated evidence, in the form of photographs of Kerry in obvious possession of the firearm, he could find himself subject to the long arm of the law.

More importantly, Korwin says, "Some of these laws are just foolish, putting honest citizens at enormous and unjustified risk, and are so complicated that even a presidential candidate and his staff cannot figure them out."

John Kerry has proven over and over he is no friend to the gun owner.

Kerry: I'll 'Take on the Terrorists' With Gun Control

Presidential candidate John Kerry promised over the weekend that he would "take on the terrorists" who attacked the U.S. on 9/11 by forcing them to obey America's gun control laws.

Kerry said laws like the Assault Weapons Ban, which expires today, were valuable "not just to fight ordinary crime but to take on terrorists."

And he complained that President Bush was "making the job of the terrorists easier" by not pushing for a renewal of the sweeping gun control law.

"The 9/11 commission and other reports have shown that al-Qaida wanted to come into America, and in the al-Qaida manual of terror, they were telling people to go out and buy assault weapons," Kerry told a crowd in Missouri.

The top Democrat did not explain why the Assault Weapons Ban failed to protect America against the 9/11 attacks, which were executed by al-Qaida operatives armed with small knives.

Nor did Kerry say how many terrorists had been arrested and charged with violations under the Assault Weapons Ban.

(footnote; I am sure that terrorists that can buy a full automatic AK47 for $50 in Baghdad or Somalia are going to come to America Gun Shops to pay $750 for a Semi-Auto) Put down that crack pipe John (it is Bush's Fault) Kerry !!!

I really appreciate how John Kerry says that Bush sold out to the NRA. Hey, I am the NRA and it is my 2nd Amendment Right that he is defending, Thanks GW!

Thanks Chris,

I haven't been on this site for a while, and it feels good to be back.

THe question that you asked me several months ago concerning which manufacturer required a trip overseas, because of faulty workmanship/ as well as other problems,   was HAKKO.   I bought one anyway because  of it's light weight.

           Thanks.
