Has anyone compared the image quality of the Ultravid line against the new Geovid line?  Is the new Geovid line have as excellent view as the new Ultravid?

Leica has yet to ship them.  The Geovid uses different coatings on the prism because of the laser and is not the same as the Ultravid.

Has anyone seen these yet?????

What type of warranty will they carry???

According to the Leica product brochure, the Geovids are specified with the same coatings as the ultravid on both the lenses and the prisms.

Thank you,

We got a few in but they shipped out the same day to back orders.  It will be a while before we have any for the shelf or get any demos for me to take hunting.

The Geovid is more like a BN optically, Leica could not use the Hi-Lux coating that the Ultravid uses because of its incompatibility with the laser.  The Ultravid is 7% brighter than the BN because of the Hi-Lux coatings.

Leica 1200 LRF (10 ounces).....$528.99

Leica 10x42 Ultravid (27 ounces).....$1444.99

Leica 10x42 Geovid (32 ounces).....$1644.99

 $1973.98 (10x42 Ultravid & 1200 LRF)

-$1644.99 (10x42 Geovid)

 $  328.99

  37 oz. (10x42 Ultravid & 1200 LRF)

- 32 oz. (10x42 Geovid)

   5 ounces difference

I don't think the optical difference between the Geovid and the Ultravid will be noticeable enough to warrant carrying two pieces of equipment that weigh 5 ounces more and cost $329. more.
