do i need to be using a fairly solid bullet here like say a nosler part.  or a swift a frame, because of the intense speed associated with this caliber? i plan on using a 115-120 gr bullet when i get this rifle, but i was just wondering if my sierra's would hold up to this speed??

http://www.realguns.com/loads/257wm.htm   Here you can find some info on the 257 Weatherby. Wow.. take it look at the 75 grain Sierra...

Under Sierra there is a 117 gr bullet listed; as far as I can find there is no info on bullets not holding up in this caliber.

i think i should be okay with anything from 100 gr and up but i wouldnt use anything smaller im thinking as long as i go from 110 accubond up to 120 nosler part i should be ok

With the case capacity and velocity capability of the .257 Wby, I'd personally take advantage of the higher BC of the 115 - 120 gr, bullets, without losing a great deal of velocity.

do you think the sierra game king is a sturdy enough bullet for whitetail at these velocities?? or would i be safer using the nosler partition??

Go with the Barnes TSX  My 257 ruins a lot of meat at times. The barnes isn't any where near as bad and shoots well too.

dont take this the wrong way cause i really appreciate the info from some one who owns a .257 but the tsx is way too expensive for my blood, i can buy 100 nosler partitions for the same price as 50 tsx's

Thanks for the info...........done.

What I like about the Partition is that you will still get good expansion at the front of the bullet, no matter what the impact velocity. It is still a benchmark bullet in my book. This condor issue  may very well lead to the end of cup over core bullets sometime down the road, though.
