What type gun do you have? Mounts are designed for a specific gun.

Here is what you need to know about your gun before you start looking for mounts:

1. Make

2. Model

3. Action (long or short)

4. Is it right or left handed?

Once you know this all you have to do is find the proper matching base. Leupold will be your best bet as they offer the widest selection, and the quality is very good as well. You can CLICK HERE and the mount selector will do the work for you.

Bases come in either a two piece or a one piece. I prefer a two piece because you don't have the bar from the one piece running across your action.

If your scope is a 1" then you will need 1" rings. Same goes for a 30mm scope. You will also need to match the type ring to the type of base. By the type I mean STD (standard) or DD ( dual dovetail). There are more types but one of these should get you going.
